Accolades: Philly Named Among Best Food Cities of 2013
"Joe Cicala and his 60-foot-long noodles made such a big impression on me." Us too!

Philly landed a nice page-turner in Food & Wine's November issue, with author/restaurant editor Kate Krader visiting and praising the likes of Vedge, Alla Spina and Le Virtu. Krader apparently liked our town so much, she gave it another shout-out today on Eater National's post on the best food cities of 2013, naming Philly along with LA, Chicago, New York, London, Stockholm and a Jarpen, a tiny town in Sweden home to the restaurant Faviken.
"As I've admitted with embarrassment, I hadn't been paying enough attention to Philly, hadn't been there in years. And so I went and BANG, so much good stuff happening," Krader told Meal Ticket today. "I spent most of my time at new places like Vernick, Serpico and Fork (old place, new chef). But also had tremendous food at spots like Le Virtu – Joe Cicala and his 60-foot-long noodles made such a big impression on me that he came and demoed it in NYC for Food & Wine."
Krader says she's planning to return soon to the places she missed, name-checking Fond, Sbraga, Will, Zahav and the original Han Dynasty. You're welcome here anytime, Kate.
