Duck buns for the win!
A big round of applause for Ben Puchowitz chef and co-owner of Cheu Noodle Bar, last night he took home the title of Hop Chef last night at Union Transfer. His smoked duck buns (possible preview for Bing Bing?) paired with Ommegang Rare Vos beat out some very stiff competition from the likes of Petruce et al., Townsend and Brau Haus Schmitz. Puchowitz will go on to compete for the title of national Hop Chef champ in Cooperstown in August.
And hats off to Chad Vetter of City Tap House who won the people's choice award for some damned good cherry-glazed lamb ribs.
