Beer Watch: SPTR's Wheat Beer Fest this Saturday
Beer, bands, barbecue and raw vegan pad thai?

Spring is officially upon us and that means that it's time once again for the South Philly Tap Room's (1509 Mifflin St.) Wheat Beer Fest. This Saturday, May 17th the SPTR crew is going to be taking over Hicks Street with 30 plus taps of wheat beers from Allagash to Unibroue, bringing in band like Saint James and the Apostles and the West Philadelphia Orchestra and hosting a South Philly barbecue.
Friend of Meal Ticket Scott Schroeder shared some menu details with us and we've got to say, it's looking good. He's got sandwich options like Walt Wit-braised pork with marinated cabbage and an asparagus salad sandwich with fresh ricotta plus raw pad thai Lisa Ransing of Full Moon Fare, a raw vegan meal delivery service.
The festivities kick off at noon food and beer are pay-as-you-go (all wheat beers are pouring for $3 a pop) and the full menu will be available inside if barbecue isn't your thing.
