Big Big News: Garces opening in New York
Not really all that much of a shocker...

With Volver just a month away and whatever is happening at the old Bookbinder's space, Jose Garces certainly has a lot on his plate. But wait, there's more. Today we caught word that Garces is expanding his Philly-Chicago-Palm Springs-Atlantic City empire to New York.
The newest addition to the Garces family is coming sometime next year to Brookfield Place, a schmancy new retail and dining complex on the west side of the Financial District.
No word yet on the concept for the new restaurant but Garces is certainly in good company with other projects from hospitality guru Danny Meyer, our own Stephen Starr and a new project from Mario Carbone and Rich Torrisi of Parm and Torrisi Italian Specialties. There's also plans for a French-inspired gourmet market place as well as upscale boutiques like Hermes and Diane von Furstenburg.
