Five times the space of our original location, plus a kitchen!

Big Big News: Green Aisle Expanding

Most of you know Adam Erace as the resident restaurant critic here at City Paper. But Señor Erace also the proprietor of Green Aisle Grocery (1618 East Passyunk Ave.) along with his brother Andrew. They've been selling a well-curated selection of locally produced edibles out of their East Passyunk storefront for four and a half years now and it looks like they're expanding to 2241 Grays Ferry Avenue later this spring.

Here's what Adam has to say about Green Aisle 2.0:

"The storefront will give us five times the space of our original location, plus a kitchen that will allow us to expand our private label line of preserves, pickles, nut butters, hot sauce and more. We'll have easy grab-and-go options, as well--think ready-made salads with local lettuce, fruits and cheeses, Pequea Valley yogurt parfaits swirled with our blueberry cardamom jam and lavender-infused honey, whole grains salads starring Bucks County farro, etc. We'll have all the locally-focused groceries you can find at our Passyunk shop, and then some: a deeper variety of PA and NJ produce, more cheeses from local artisans, refillable bulk cleaning supplies, an even bigger selection of bitters and barware.

One of the most exciting elements of this location will include a Little Baby's counter. Little Baby's will be supplying us with rotating flavors of their ice cream that we will dip to order in the store. We will try not to eat it all ourselves."

Grab-and-go plus a Little Baby's counter? This can't happen soon enough.
