Celebrate with tequila, tacos and a 1981 priced menu.

Birthday Parties: Cantina and Day By Day

Two big birthday celebrations happening today: First up Cantina Dos Segundos (931 N. 2nd St.) in No Libs is turning five and celebrating with some pretty sweet deals. They've got $5 apps all day long including Mexican hot dogs, pork belly anticuchos and kale and mushroom flautas. And of course, it's not a Cantina party without tequila so they're doing El Jimdor margaritas and shots and citywide for $5 and $10 Corona buckets. After 10 p.m. tonight Cantina is brining in five DJs and discounting the Coronas to $2. Feliz cumpleaños, amigos!

Over in Rittenhouse Day By Day (2101 Sansom St.) is marking 33 years in the biz with a throwback menu and that means that prices are being rolled back to the year 1981. Along with complementary sparkling wine and chocolate covered strawberries, Day By Day is offering salmon in phyllo dough with dill sour cream for $7, egg salad with green olives for $4 and a selection of $3 desserts including chocolate mousse, pecan pie and carrot cake.
