Mmm..words.
 
                                            	Fishtown's The Head & The Hand Press took charge of a unique concept back in December -- a vending machine that dispenses little "chapbooks" instead of chips and candy. The machine was posted up at Elixir Coffee in Center City until recently.
The Head & The Hand founder Nic Esposito had gotten the machine from his cousin, who owns a vending company. Being in charge of a book press, Esposito figured he'd use it to sell something intellectually enriching instead of nutritionally empty.
Now, the vending machine will call honeygrow restaurant, 110 S. 16th St., its home. The chapbooks (short fiction works that sell for $2) are written mostly by local writers.
honeygrow will host an unveiling party on Thursday, March 13 at 8:30 p.m. with complimentary food samples, readings by chapbook authors and live music. Ten random books in the machine will also have a coupon for a free lunch hidden inside.
