Collabs: Serpico and The Brooklyn Star
Brooklyn meets Philly for a one night only, southern-accented dinner.

Here's an out of town collaboration dinner to get excited about — On Sunday, April 20th (yeah, it's Easter too) Serpico (604 South St.) is welcoming Quino Baca of The Brooklyn Star to Philly for a good lookin' family style collaboration dinner on South Street.
Here's the back story — Baca and Serpico know each other from Momofuku where Baca opened the original Momofuku Ssam Bar with David Chang. A few years later Baca ventured out on his own to open the southern accented Star in Williamburg (where a certain City Paper food editor, ahem, yours truly, was a member of the original staff). The two have been friends ever since and this dinner at Serpico is going to be equal parts Brooklyn Star southern (think jalapeño-bacon cornbread and country fried steak) Serpico fare like marinated squid salad with green tomatoes and herbs. Knowing Baca, we're predicting plenty of cold Lone Stars and possibly some Pappy Van Winkle. You can take a look at the full menu here ($45 a head) and reserve your spot by calling 215-925-3001.
