Concert Review/Photos: Disclosure @ Union Transfer
A sauna full of sweating, dancing bodies.

[ 6/6 ] I’d been counting down the days to this show since March, when Disclosure was originally scheduled to play but cancelled due to their Mercury Prize nomination. The UK brothers have been on repeat in my stereo. I knew their live performance would be nothing short of amazing.
You could feel the energy before Disclosure even took the stage, but when the room darkened and strobes began to flash, the excitement doubled and loud cheers erupted throughout the sold-out venue. That trademark 3D Disclosure face lit up on the giant screen as Guy and Howard Lawrence ran onto the stage and rumbled into “F For You.” Mary J. Blige, who does accompanying vocals on the track, wasn’t present, but images of her projected on the screens behind the brothers. With “When A Fire Starts to Burn” the projected flames turned the place into a sauna full of sweating, dancing bodies.
It was no surprise they ended with “Latch,” which caused a sea of cell phones to be raised in the air, while the crowd belted out the “never” alongside Sam Smith’s vocals. I got pulled into a dance circle and we yelled the lyrics and danced wildly together. I didn’t want the night to end; it felt like I was at a house party with my best friends, but then I realized my shirt was completely drenched in sweat and I knew it was time to go.
