Concert Review/Photos: Flume @ Union Transfer
Flume left the stage and the crowd began to hum The White Stripes' "Seven Nation Army."
[ 7/25 ] In an explosion of bright lights, 22-year-old Australian sensation Harley Edward Streten took to the stage at a sold-out Union Transfer Friday night. Flume — who has received worldwide attention due to his hit “Holdin’ On,” as well as remixes of Disclosure and Lorde — remained quiet and hidden behind his hexagonal LED throne, but he filled the room with pulsating electronic beats. Behind him, a large video screen produced colorful imagery and faces synching to the music, as well as an impressive light show that showered the venue. We threw our hands in the air and danced the night away. As his main set wrapped up, Flume left the stage and the crowd began to hum The White Stripes’ “Seven Nation Army.” It started to feel like a soccer game, until he walked back on stage, noting he loved The White Stripes before kicking into his encore.
