Concert Review/Photos: Spoon @ World Cafe Live
Britt Daniel's five piece tore through a ten song set.
Fresh from a rain soaked performance the day before at Made in America, Spoon wowed a sold out World Cafe Live Free at Noon show on Labor Day. Opening with a blistering "Outlier" from their new record They Want My Soul, the Britt Daniel-led Austin five piece tore through a ten song set. With a backdrop featuring the haunting hand found on They Want My Soul's cover, Spoon electrified the room. And to go out on such a brilliant high note with their classic "Don't Make Me a Target" was certainly a wise decision. But with Philly only getting a festival performance and this 40 minute set hopefully Spoon will make a return during this tour to properly frame their new work with the vast greatness of the old.
