Second volume from our favorite local canning enthusiast coming in April.

Cookbook Shelf: Preserving by the Pint by Marisa McCellan

Our favorite local preserving blogger, Marisa McCellan is releasing her second cookbook in April. Preserving by the Pint  is a close to home project for McClellan who has been canning out of her tiny Rittenhouse apartment and sharing her experiences on her blog, Food In Jars since 2006. Her second volume focuses on small-batch recipes ideal for urban canners, especially those with CSA memberships. Broken down by season, we can look forward to recipes like chunky pear preserves with sage, strawberries poached in vanilla syrup and honey-sweetened apricot-lavender butter.
