"I am the heir to the Powhatan Empire," said Crown Prince Emperor El Bey Bigbay.

Awesome story in today's Daily News by Jason Nark, who consistently does right by the "weird stuff in South Jersey" beat as well as half a dozen others. Today, it's Crown Prince Emperor El Bey Bigbay, a guy who appears to have just rolled into South Jersey's lone Native American reservation and insisted he was their one true chief:

More than deer and dogs are afoot among the Powhatan Renape these days. A self-proclaimed leader with an impossibly long name and a confusing past says he's taking the reins and reclaiming the reservation, whether council members like it or not.

"I am the heir to the Powhatan Empire," said Crown Prince Emperor El Bey Bigbay. "I don't deal with the council. The council is null and void."

The story is as hilarious as the guy's chosen name would lead you to expect, from the council's confusion about how to handle this to Bigbay's Twitter calls for Kanye to come join the tribe. Go read it.
