Daniel Denvir takes a hard look at Comcast's political muscle in a piece in the op-ed section of today's New York Times. In "Welcome to Comcast Country," he argues that the proper relationship between Comcast and elected officials on the city, state and federal levels has been turned upside down. Boosterism has replaced honest examination, and Comcast's customers are the poorer. The op-ed builds on a piece he wrote for City Paper in March 2013, at a time when Comcast was swallowing NBC Universal. Today, Comcast is asking the feds for permission to add Time Warner Cable to its growing empire.
