Stopped into the newly opened Stock (308 E. Girard Ave.) in Fishtown for lunch this weekend and we've got to say that pretty much everything on the short and sweet menu falls easily into the Eat This Immediately category.
The pho, with its stock made with grass-fed beef and delicate aromatics was killer. Cleaner and more refined than the standup bowls on Washington Avenue. But the beef cheek banh mi was a game changer. From the falling-apart tender cheeks (duck sausage was also on the menu) to the paper thin slices of cucumber and jalapeno, the sandwich was beautifully balanced and expertly constructed.
Lunch is available on weekends from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
