Fire at the old Fumo mansion
And did you know it's a potential filming location? With a photo walkthrough?

Former state Sen. Vince Fumo's roofdeck caught on fire this weekend, according to the AP:
Firefighters have snuffed a small blaze on a roof deck at former state Sen. Vincent Fumo's mansion in Philadelphia. ... Emergency officials say the fire didn't damage the four-story mansion itself. Nobody was hurt.
We've been fascinated by the Fumo mansion for years, partly because we live seven blocks away on the same street and noticed a definite drop in the winter care Green Street gets after the the former state senator was sent to prison for corruption. (The charges involved using public funds to pretty up the mansion at 2200 Green St.)
The Fumo mansion went up for sale when he went to prison, but never sold. Fumo's back living there as of August on house arrest (much to the grumpiness of the Inquirer's editorial board) through the end of his sentence last month, and reportedly began treatment for prostate cancer earlier this month.
The deck that caught on fire was but one of three, according to writeup the property has on the Greater Philadelphia Film Office's website as a potential shooting location:
Mansion with 3 decks, an indoor shooting range, and a billiard room.
Best of all, though, there's a (poorly shot) photo walkthrough of the place! So now you can see all that stuff you've read about. Always wondered what the "indoor shooting range" could possibly look like? Now you know it is not nearly as impressive-looking as it sounds. Wanted to know whether there's what looks like a small shrine to Sinatra? Now you know. Wanted to know exactly how many ties the Fumo household had? So many ties.
