From Our Living Room, by Birds on a Wire
Attended: Sat., Sept. 20, 8 p.m., closed Sept. 20
Fresh from last year's sold-out run of HATCH, Birds on a Wire presents an intimate evening of new duets, all choreographed by company members.
WE THINK:
With a couch in the middle of the seating area and lamps placed around the room, this show had the cozy vibe of watching a performance in somebody's living room. Its series of short dance works gave members of Birds on a Wire Dance Theatre a chance to showcase their individual choreographic visions, via duets, plus one heartwarming solo.
Each piece offered very personal interpretive dance, translating an array of feelings and emotions into vigorous limber movement. There was lots of yin and yang on the nature of relationships, plus a solo by the visibly pregnant Melissa Rodis, BOW's artistic director, who joyfully demonstrated that having a baby in your belly really does make you glow.
