Great Sandwiches: Introducing Drew Lazor

Editor's Note: In the days leading up to our inaugural GREAT SANDWICHES EVENT happening on May 28th (get your tickets HERE!)we're going to be introducing the sandwich-centric heavy hitters taking part in this totally awesome celebration of sandwiches. Today we're rolling out the judges panel beginning with Drew Lazor, former City paper food editor and founder of this here blog, Meal Ticket.

Favorite sandwich:The Reuben.

Least Favorite sandwich: I used to work at Subway and I have intermittent night terrors about the tuna salad there. Although, for some reason, I get a creepy, insatiable craving for it once or twice a year, which requires me to down a footlong while crying.

Most memorable sandwich experience: Having my "Dad's Sandwich" (butter-fried turkey, pork roll, cheddar, jalapeno, crushed BBQ chips and dijonaise, on butter-grilled Texas Toast) make a guest appearance on the menu at American Sardine Bar (1800 Federal St.) in Point Breeze

Best Philadelphia sandwich: This is hard. I'm going with the "Super Torta" from El Jarocho (1138 S. 13th St.) . It has literally every conceivable awesome sandwich topping on it. That is not a misuse of "literally."

Deal breaker: Wack-ass bread, of course.
