Great Sandwiches: Introducing Laura Frangiosa
"I dream of Muffalettas..."

Editor's Note: In the days leading up to our inaugural GREAT SANDWICHES EVENT happening on May 28th (get your tickets HERE!)we're going to be introducing the sandwich-centric heavy hitters taking part in this totally awesome celebration of sandwiches. Today we're talking to Laura Frangiosa, owner of Lansdowne's The Avenue Delicatessen who is going to be serving up Jewish-Italia-inspired deli sandwiches at the event.
Favorite sandwich: Usually the one I'm eating at the moment... I dream of Muffalettas from Central Grocery in New Orleans. Probably cause I can't have them all the time. I know I'll miss Chickie's (1014 Federal St.) terrrrriiibllllly if they close.
Least favorite sandwich: A shittily constructed one.
Most memorable sandwich experience: Towards the end of the summer when I was a kid, every year, my Pop-Pop would take us to this Festa for some church in or near Conshohocken, for Italian pork sandwiches, so savory and drippy, ones like that can almost bring me to tears. We have one like it on our menu.
Best Philadelphia pandwich: A Chickie's Special (with fresh mozz not prov). I can't pick my own corned beef Reuben right?
Sandwich deal breaker: BAD BREAD! I mean this on every level...bread must be fresh, and the correct bread for a substantial sandwich, please for the love of god...don't give me flimsy bread that is going to fall apart when I take my second bite.
