Consider your Friday happy hour plans made for the rest of the summer.

Happy Hour: Visit Philly Beer Garden Series

You can go ahead and thank the good folks at Visit Philly for a brilliant excuse to get out of the office a little early this and every Friday until the end of the summer. Kicking off this afternoon at 4 p.m. at Morgan's Pier (221 N. Columbus Blvd.), the Philly Beer Garden Series is going to be popping up all over the city at eight outside drinking destinations including the PHS Pop-Up Garden (new location this season at 1436-1438 South St.), The Oval (2601 Benjamin Franklin Parkway), Frankford Hall (1210 Frankford Ave.) and two brand new locations — the Independence Beer Garden (with a menu from Michael Schulson btw) at 100 Independence Mall West and Spruce Street Harbor Park at Spruce Street and Columbus Boulevard.

The series will offer all sorts of food and drink specials from 4 to 7 p.m. plus a perfect opportunity to explore the city's al fresco drinking options because do you really want to spend Friday afternoon in a dingy dive? Check out the full beer garden pop-up line up right here
