Bea Arthurs and Salty Pimps coming our way!

Ice Cream Alert: Big Gay Ice Cream opening at Broad and South

File this under good news for people who like good news: Doug Quint and Bryan Petroff are expanding their ice cream empire to Philly with the opening of a Big Gay Ice Cream shop set for late summer. The Insider broke the news last night chatting with the duo at the Great Chefs Event where they were scooping rose-cardamom swirl. (Not really sure what's going on in the comments section there, guys.)  The shop is set to open in the SouthStar building, home to Kevin Sbraga's latest venture.

If you're not familiar with the awesomeness of GBIC you probably want to familiarize yourself with classics like the Bea Arthur (vanilla soft serve, dulce de leche and crushed 'Nilla wafers), the Salty Pimp (vanilla soft serve with chocolate, dulce de leche and sea salt), and the Cococone (vanilla soft serve rolled in curried shaved coconut.) plus a predilection for rainbows and unicorns.
