First up, it's free cone day at Häagen-Dazs (242 South St.) so you should probably drop what you're doing and head down to their South Street location, like right now. Free cones are scooping from 4 to 8 p.m. Now, if only they were sampling those wild new Japanese vegetable flavors, everything would be perfect.
In other ice cream news, Eater spotted a gorgeous new custom-built wood-fired oven going into Capogiro's upcoming Old City location. Amazing gelato plus wood-fired pizza and a full liquor license? We cannot wait for this place to open.
