Is It Kosher? Jewish Exponent Chimes in on Abe Fisher
It's a matter of pork belly.

Abe Fisher (1623 Sansom St.), the brand newly opened Sansom Street spot from Michael Solomonov and Steve Cook has been generating plenty of buzz with it's glob trotting take on the foods of the Jewish diaspora. Robert Libkind of The Jewish Exponent isn't so sure if the concept is kosher:
"If Abe Fisher were a real person — instead of a fictional name intended by the restaurateurs to evoke a stereotypical old Jewish guy — he'd be spinning in his grave."
Libkind is wondering whether a restaurant that has more than a few pork-centric dishes on the menu can call itself Jewish. Head on over to The Exponent to hear Cook's rebuttal. Spoiler: There's pork belly involved.
