I'm going to a show! Ok, fine, it's a kids' show. But it's my first show since seeing Regina Spektor in 2010 (if you don't count the local family concert series in the park). For more perspective on how often I don't get out: The last non-kids' movie that I saw in a theater was the Harold and Kumar sequel. In 2008.
I'm taking my tiny people to Kidchella at Smith Memorial Playground this Friday. The line-up includes Walter Martin of The Walkmen, Brady Rymer, and The Not-Its!, plus you can bring a picnic dinner OR buy dollar tacos from Shifty's Tacos.
Here are some random photos of my kid in Kidchella wear. It was supposed to be a bit of a riff on Coachella's ridiculous fashion, except that rompers and hippie gear actually look appropriate on toddlers and thus don't convey the same level of douchiness as the starlets who wear them.
Tickets are $10 a pop here.
