MISSED CONNECTIONS RUN-OFF: Beer slinky edition

Please note: This article is published as an archive copy from Philadelphia City Paper. My City Paper is not affiliated with Philadelphia City Paper. Philadelphia City Paper was an alternative weekly newspaper in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The last edition was published on October 8, 2015.

This week: Beer cup tricks, feats of strength, accidental murderer jokes and Die Antwoord. Who gets the date, who gets the steak knives and who gets fired?

MISSED CONNECTIONS RUN-OFF: Beer slinky edition

If you've never seen Glengarry Glen Ross, this column conceit is probably pretty confusing. That's cool! We'll wait here for you to go watch it. At the very least, go watch this part. OK, we're all on the same page now? Great!

Every week we choose four Philly-area Missed Connections postings for the Run-Off, and you vote in the comments for who should get the C̶a̶d̶i̶l̶l̶a̶c̶ ̶E̶l̶d̶o̶r̶a̶d̶o̶  date with their Missed Connection. Second place gets a set of steak knives. Third place is you're fired. Fourth place is you're fired. (Disclaimer: This is for entertainment purposes only. Philadelphia City Paper has no power to make dates happen or fire anybody. We also do not have any steak knives.)

CONTESTANT ONE

Empty beer cup trick - m4w (Flyers game)

I'm glad you took my advice to take the empty seats in front of me...that empty beer cup slinky trick down the entire staircase was the highlight of the game (probably wouldn't have been most games, but when the team is unwatchable...the fans are worth looking at...and you were nice to look at, by the way - hope to see you again)

CONTESTANT TWO

you picked me up literally - m4w - 38 (12th and Pine)

I dared you to pick me up and you did and staggered 100 feet with me in your arms. You deserve a meal or a drink in the location of your choice for this effort. Tell me what was the item you wanted from me in the mock hold up to claim my appreciation for this most unusual effort.

CONTESTANT THREE

Deep, dark basement - m4w - 30 (Penn )

You hopped on the elevator to go down a floor right as I was going up. You were crazy beautiful and I lost my words after I made a joke about your going to the basement. We spotted each other on the street afterward. If you see this, tell me what I was wearing and what I said. I haven't been able to stop thinking about you.

CONTESTANT FOUR

I fink you freaky (El Bar)

To who the hell ever was playing Die Antwoord at El Bar tonight...
let's get married.

So! Comment and let us know. Who gets the C̶a̶d̶i̶l̶l̶a̶c̶ ̶E̶l̶d̶o̶r̶a̶d̶o̶ date, who gets the steak knives, who's fired?
