Sorry. Had to.

Narc to narc on narcs

Or, in other words, from the Inquirer:

An ex-Philadelphia narcotics officer, who pleaded guilty to attempted robbery and firearms charges Monday, has agreed to testify against his former colleagues in a widening federal probe into corruption in the department's drug squad.

Sorry, just flipped by that story and had to link to it solely because of the potential for a silly headline.

If you haven't been following it, here's more on the ongoing story of former narcotics officer Jeffrey Walker, who was arrested himself last May after an FBI sting got him on tape bragging about how easy it was to rob drug dealers, then planting drugs on a dealer and stealing $15,000 and five pounds of weed from his house while he was in jail. Walker technically already narced on his former colleagues — he's been cooperating with police the whole time, and the six officers in question were taken off street duty in January. This is just to make it official.

Kind of the most fascinating part:

[Walker's] information led to a search of the Schuylkill River last year for a stolen safe allegedly discarded there. It was not found.

Sounds like the beginning of a movie potentially starring Steve McQueen!
