Openings: Abe Fisher
Bacon and egg creams and beet tartare!

The countdown to Abe Fisher starts right now folks. Mike Solomonov and Steve Cook are opening Abe Fisher (1623 Sansom St.), their ode to the foods of the Jewish diaspora on Tuesday, Spetember 2nd and we cannot wait.
The menu, broken down into small plates ($10 vegetables, $12 fish and $14 meat) features tongue and cheek takes on Jewish classics like borscht (beet tartare with trout roe, sour cream, egg and hard-cooked egg), lox (smoked salmon hash with peppadew peppers and capers) and corned beef (corned pork belly with challah pretzel, emmenthal cheese, Manischewitz mustard and radish kraut).
There are also prix fixe options (a plate from each category plus dessert for $39) and sharable large format dinners like Montreal-style smoke short ribs with rye bread and garnishes for four and a three course duck dinner for two.
Deli-inspired desserts (think a black and white lemon poppy cheesecake with almond cookie and a bacon and egg cream with maple custard and chocolate foam) round out the meal.
Beverage manager Brain Kane has put together an eclectic and totally awesome menu of beer, wine (with a bunch on tap) and good lookin' cocktails like the Abe Fisher, a take on a gin martini served with a dill pickle spear.
