Your one stop bibimbap shop.

Openings: BAP Philly

In the world of niche restaurant news, we're pleased to announce that Philadelphia's premiere bibimbap takeout joint, BAP (1224 South St.), is now open on South Street. The simple menu (seriously simple, like four items total) focuses on the glorious Korean rice bowls known as bibimbap.

Here's what BAP's menu has to say about their signature item: "Bap means meal and bibim means mixed. Bibimbap is a Korean dish that translates literally as "mixed meal." Sauteed and seasoned vegetables, barbecue beef, topped with an egg and gachujang or chili sauce to taste, served over a bowl of rice."

Prices at BAP run from $6.95 for vegetable bibimbap to $7.95 for beef, chicken and tofu. And from the looks of their bibimbap-themed car, delivery is available from noon to 9 p.m.
