More good news for Manayunk.

Openings: Beast & Ale

Tim Spinner and Brian Sirhal, the duo behind the Feliz trio of Mexican spots in Fairmount, Fort Washington and Manayunk are venturing north of the border with Beast & Ale (4161 Main St., Manayunk), their latest spot opening its doors today at 4 p.m.

They're calling it an "updated greasy spoon serving savory classics with a beastly twist," but the menu reads more bar fare meets comfort food than ghouls, goblins and other assorted beasties. Topping out at just under the $20 mark the menu is made up of starters (think chimichurri wings, whipped cauliflower with tapenade and fried green beans), soups, salads, burgers and sandwiches (hello, fried bologna!) plus a handle of plates like fried chicken with polenta and braised escarole and a fish of the day.

On the drinks end of things there are a handful of classic cocktails, nine beers on tap ranging from Moosehead to Bruery Tradewinds Triple and a wine list where everything is available by the glass, half carafe or bottle and nothing going over $32.
