Italian Market additions.

Openings: Blue Corn

Passyunk Post

Passyunk Post has the first pics of Blue Corn (940 S. 9th St.), the newest Mexican spot in the Italian Market. According to PP co-owner Amado Sandoval is looking to set his restaurant apart from the rest of the Mex-heavy strip with daily shopping trips and a menu that's made entirely from scratch. Look out for elevated Mexican plates like red snapper stuffed with huitlacoche and machanmateles, a pork chop braised in a sauce of chiles and fruit. Blue Corn also boasts a pretty serious cocktail menu (hello, frozen tamarind margarita!) with cocktails going for $7.50 and beers for $4 and they're open until 2 a.m. every day of the week.
