Jose Garces' fancy pants tasting menu only restaurant in the Kimmel Center is set to open on April 16th but we've just caught word that Bar Volver is going to be opening up a week earlier on April 9th. This is good news for a few reasons - first off the idea of a Champagne (50 plus sparkling wines!) and caviar bar has us more than a little excited and secondly, the a la carte menu is a bit more wallet friendly than the prix fixe.
Seating at the swanky Bar Volver is going to operate on a first come, first serve basis and chef Natalie Maronski has put together a good looking menu of bar bites including cheese, charcuterie and caviar plus more composed plates like oyster tartare with horseradish cream cheese foam, preserved lemon, black truffle concentrate, green apple and hazelnut oil and wage brochettes with a yakitori glaze and togarashi mayo. Little petit fours like pretzel salted caramels and smoked milk ice cream will be available for dessert.
