The corner of Six and Market is about to get way friendlier as of 4 p.m. today, especially if you'd prefer a frosty pint of Old Dominion Beach House over a long and sweaty wait to gawk at the Liberty Bell.
Independence Beer Garden (100 South Independence Mall), a year-round outdoor drinking and dining destination is opening for business this afternoon and serving an all-American menu that's tourist and local friendly courtesy of chefs Michael Schulson of Sampan and Top Chef-testant Travis Masar. Think Mac and cheese with pretzel crumbs, avocado-topped shrimp rolls and DIY s'mores.
