A casual American restaurant with a throwback to the '80s!

Openings: Intel on Juniper Commons, the latest from Sbraga

Subbing in for Craig Laban, The Insider sat down with Kevin Sbraga yesterday for Philly.com's Tuesday afternoon food and restaurant chat. Aside from sharing love for Le Virtu and Pho Ha and a little less love for Lionel Richie, Sbraga shared a few insightful details about his latest venture, Juniper Commons, set to open in the SouthStar building on Broad and South. Here's what he had to say:

"It's going to be a fun, casual American restaurant with a throwback to the '80s. It will be called Juniper Commons, after the neighborhood."

When a commenter asked if the concept was still going to be rotisserie-centric Sbraga replied "Too hard to say now. Stay tuned."

He did however mention that the meatloaf, a dish that earned plenty of accolades at Sbraga will be on the menu at Juniper Commons.

Read the full transcript here for Sbraga's favorite brunch in the city, his go-to fish spot and hints about a possible chicken and fries concept.
