Pickle Brain?

Pickle News: Pizza Brain launches pickles!

You might think that Brian Dwyer, one of the masterminds behind premier pizza museum/pizzeria Pizza Brain (2313 frankford Ave.) might have enough on his plate with the recent birth of Waldo James Mysterious Dwyer, his scale-tipping/internationally internet famous son born last week. Nope.

This Friday Dwyer is getting in the pickle game with a Fishtown-based pickle group (yes, group) called Gary Ducket. Of course, this is no ordinary pickle company.

"The sudden inclusion of pickled snacks in his presently pizza-centric universe might seem odd, but Dwyer embodies the same zeal and enthusiasm for the culture of pickles as he does for that other food he champions so much," reads the press release.

Details on this new endeavor are shrouded in mystery and will emerge at a launch party for Gary Ducket happening on Friday at Pizza Brain HQ with a few special guests. Pizza Brain cooking up a collaboration slice featuring Valley Shepherd cheeses and topped with Jamón ibérico (rumored to be the priciest slice of pizza ever sold in Philly). Little Baby's will be scooping cucumber dill ice cream and there will four varieties of Gary Ducket pickles for sampling.

Oh, and there will be cocktails, brine-inpsired cocktails mix up with Franklin Mortage and pouring gratis with the purchase of the special Gary Ducket slice.

Consider us intrigued.
