
Piece of building collapses at 17th and Chestnut
A chunk of stone paneling fell from the facade of Jacobs Music at 1718 Chestnut St. this morning.

A chunk of stone paneling fell from the facade of Jacobs Music at 1718 Chestnut St. this morning. The dislodged piece crashed down onto the busy Center City sidewalk near 17th and Chestnut. So far, no injuries have been reported.
The building is owned by Al C. Renaldi, the proprietor of Jacobs Music, a 114-year-old piano retailer. A work crew was seen erecting scaffolding in order to stabilize the exterior of the building this afternoon.
