West Philly is basically a pizza desert.
The good folks over at West Philly Eats aren't big fans of the pizza offerings west of 30th Street. But instead of writing off West Philly pies all together they've put together a top five list of passable slices ("But if you must eat a slice of pizza in the area, here are the 5 best plain cheese slices in West Philadelphia.") Anyway, it's a pretty funny/gross/useful read, and if you find yourself in the pizza desert known as West Philly, well, at least you know where to get a slice that won't kill you.
