Pizza Watch: New Pies at City Tap House
Summertimes pizza featuring Jersey corn and peaches.
Art Etchells
City Tap House chef Chad Vetter has a way with seasonal produce. We got to experience it first hand a few weeks back at Hop Chef with his lamb ribs served with a sweet-tart cherry glaze. Now Vetter is making excellent use of mid summer favorites like Jersey corn and peaches with a handful of newly introduced pizzas at City Tap House (3925 Walnut St.).
Here's a peek at the new pizzas:
Country Peach, with caramelized peaches, Benton's ham, manchego cheese and baby arugula.
Sweet Corn, featuring homemade corn puree (roasted white corn, cream, garlic, salt, pepper) generously spread into the crust, with melted Raclette, oven-roasted tomatoes, pickled jalapenos and drizzled cilantro pesto.
Salumi, with Cantimpalo Chorizo, tomato sauce, mozzarella and thinly sliced Fresno peppers.
