Pop Ups: A Christmas for Ben at American Sardine Bar (with menu!)

Remember back on Monday when we told you about that very special holiday pop up dinner happening at American Sardine Bar? No? Well, here's the deal - ASB chef Scott Schroeder is very generously hosting a Christmas dinner for his buddy, Ben Puchowitz, the Christmas deprived i.e. Jewish chef of Cheu Noodle Bar. The dinner is happening on Wednesday, December 18th at 7 p.m. and tickets to this limited engagement are running for $100 a head and available right here

And now, let's take a look at the menu plus drinks pairings:

Jack's Granny Smith Cider

Bubbie's chopped liver

Dungeness crab dip, bahn mi garnish, shrimp chips

Beef tongue pastrami, sauerkraut, gulden's spicy brown mustard, caraway cracker

Tuna lox, cream cheese, sea urchin, cucumber, warm bagel

Served with 2011 Chateau de Bois Brincon Terres de Gres Anjou & Great Lakes Christmas Ale

Whole fried duck with Cheu's buns, black garlic sauce, fermented chile sauce

Schmaltz fried potatoes, bacon powder

Spicy coconut collard greens

Cold squid ink noodles, lettuce, seaweed, water-chestnuts, thai basil, clam vinaigrette

served with Dupont Avec & Isa Rouge
