Pop Ups: Ronin Kitchen

Alejandro A. Alvarez

There's been a distinct and unfortunate lack of takoyaki in Philadelphia since Maru Global shuttered a few years back. Today Meal Ticket godfather Drew Lazor profiles Ryo Igarashi, the Japanese chef behind the short-lived 10th Street spot.

After a series of unfortunate events Igarashi is back in the kitchen with a series of pop up dinners at Tokio (124 Lomard St.) kicking off on April 10th. Seats for the dinner are going to be pre-sold through Ronin Kitchen's site and are going for $53 for six courses. The menu for the first dinner is live and it's looking pretty tight with a dragon fruit, soy and sochu aperitif, buckwheat gnocchi with cod roe, shiso and pine nuts and a pot de creme for dessert with chocolate, azuke beans, chestnut and green tea. Seating is limited so we highly suggest you get on this.
