Previews: Scenes from the Brigantessa Pop-Up

Yesterday Le Virtu's Joe Cicala previewed his eagerly anticipated pizzeria-enoteca-birreria Brigantessa with the help of the Pitruco pizza truck. Cicala manned the mobile pizza truck turning out some seriously good looking (and VPN certified) pies including a classic marinara, one with nettle pesto, burrata, sorrel and lard-fried breadcrumbs and a n'duja sausage topped pie with sheep's milk ricotta and roasted red peppers. Pastry chef Angela Ranalli also debuted two new desserts that are landing on the Brigantessa menu; Moorish cannolis and coda d'aragosta, lobster tail shaped pastries filled with Nutella cream.

Brigantessa is aiming for a mid-late summer opening and after this pop-up, we cannot wait for doors to open.
