Previews: Sneak Peek of the Rooster Soup Co.
What's Pastaramen?

Remember when we told you about Rooster Soup Co., the do-good soup concept from the folks behind Zahav, Percy Street and Federal Donuts? Well, this morning we got a sneak peek at what's going to be on the menu. There's still time to contribute to their Kickstarter and make sure that these awesome soups become a reality!
Here's the full report from co-owner Steve Cook, complete with Seinfeld jokes:
First up: Pastramen. The unholy marriage of a pastrami sandwich and ramen noodle soup, this bowl will fill you up and makes an elegant pairing with a Dr. Brown's Cel-Ray soda. Double chicken stock spiked with soy, pastrami-cured short rib, sauerkraut and rye noodles make this a soup that is definitely a meal. Sorry, Jerry.
Lest you think we would neglect our vegan and vegetarian friends: Yemenite Thai Green Curry soup with sweet potatoes, coconut milk, schug (Yemenite fresh green chili and garlic) over coconut rice makes for a collision of flavors, no meat needed.
Only an Israeli chef addicted to Pho 75 would come up with Chicken Noodle Pho, made from double chicken stock, homemade matzoh balls, rice noodles, celery, dill and chicken oysters. Just in case you have never sneaked the oysters off of a roast chicken before you serve it, these are the two super-choice, round pieces of dark meat on the back of the bird, near the thigh.
