The worst/best/bestworst band name in Philly poll: Leaderboards

We made a sort-of joke post yesterday about finding the worst band name in Philadelphia, and offered a poll to fill out where readers could nominate and vote on candidates in the categories of Worst Name, Best Name and Bestworst Name. We got so many really good write-in names (West Philly math-rock group David Phosphor Walrus in particular) that we're extending the voting until the end of the week; we put the new write-ins at the bottom of the list, so feel free to weigh in on just those if you've already voted.

We made some little top-20 leaderboard widgets (below) that will update themselves to reflect new votes every few minutes, so check back as the week goes on. As of the end of the first day of voting, MC Nameless has had a commanding lead in the Worst Name category since the very start, followed by alternate-universe punctuators OhBree and Caalypsö; the Best Names category is being mostly led by high-profile acts with familiar names (plus dark horse Shitty Wizard!); and Bestworst still seems to be anybody's game.

(We are happy to see that Shitty Wizard, Slutever and Time Hitler and the Assholes from Space, our favorites to win bestworst, are representing well — the only CP favorite not doing so well in any category is the MC J.O. The Last Man, and we do not understand that at all.)

Anyway — enough talk. Here's the current scores.

These update themselves every few minutes; you can check back throughout the week.

Go vote for your favorites!
