This weekend: Beer Camp in Fishtown

Here's what you need to know about Sierra Nevada Brewing Co.'s Beer Camp Across America stop in Philly this Saturday, Aug. 2:

-Sierra Nevada has collaborated this year with 12 breweries to release a mixed Beer Camp pack, with a total of 12 beers. You can pick one up now for about $25, and it includes special brews from our own Victory Brewing Co., as well as breweries like Allagash, Ballast Point and Russian River.

-In conjuction with that 12-pack, the breweries have been on a 7-stop tour across the U.S., where in each city they're posting up for a daylong festival of beer bacchanalia. In addition to the collaborative breweries, dozens of others from across the nation are offering tastings at these festivals. Philly will host the penultimate stop on the tour this Saturday, in Fishtown's picturesque Penn Treaty Park from noon-5 p.m. More than 80 (!) breweries are pouring two beers each for your sampling enjoyment. There will also be food trucks, music, performers, etc.

-Tickets are $65. That's one of the priciest beer events that's come through Philly, but it's safe to say this is also one of the biggest. Philly Beer Week's Opening Tap event, for example, has around 30 breweries pouring. The Philly Craft Beer Fest offers about 75. Sierra Nevada's invited so many breweries in hopes of becoming "the biggest celebration of craft beer in American history." Basically, if you're serious about craft beer, you should probably be there. We will be, chatting with brewers and taking photos. Check out info and buy tickets here
