A restaurant opening and a ridiculous TV appearance.

Top Chefs: Cichonski Watch

Looks like The Gaslight (120 Market St.), Jason Cichonski's Old City takeover of the tragically named PBR (Philadelphia Bar and Restaurant, ugh) is officially opening its doors tonight at 5 p.m. The menu leans towards gastropub-standard fare with added Cichonski flare -- think a pulled duck sandwich, er, sam'ich with bok choy, whiskey-caramel wings, and aged queso with piquillo peppers.

And then there's that TV spot.

In other Cichonski news, sparkly eyed, ridiculous television person, Audrina Patridge (you know, from The Hills!) was in town over the weekend shooting her new NBC lifestyle show, 1st Look. Philly.com is reporting that aside from heading down to Ela to learn the finer points of scrambled eggs from Cichonski, she tackled The Whale, a 14-pound breakfast sandwich from Spread Bagelry. So, where can you watch this sure to be mind-blowing piece of television? The Insider is saying that it'll be part of the loop playing the back seats of taxis around town within the next few weeks
