Valentine's Day Planner

Well folks, Valentine's Day is a little more than a week away and that means it's time to start planning something special for your main squeeze, you know, if you're into that kind of thing. There are all sorts of places all over town cashing in on oyster-and-champagne tasting menus complete with chocolate desserts billing themselves as (ugh) decadent.

Instead, over the next week we're going to be offering up some Valentine's Day alternatives that have little to nothing to do with price gouging bouquets of long stem roses, waxy chocolate samplers or oh so heartfelt sentiments delivered via a drugstore greeting card.

First up we thought we'd revisit our date night round up. The criteria is simple — (A) Dinner and drinks for two for under $75. (B) No takeout. (C) No canned romance — i.e., no run-of-the-mill aphrodisiacs, carriage rides, opera-singing wait staff, etc.

Head over here for V-Day suggestions like Korean barbecue, killer pizza, exotic Southeast Asian eats and our number one spot for a romantic night out in Jersey.
