Weird stuff from Emily's Facebook: Wed., Jan. 22

Emily gets so many invites to interesting stuff on Facebook that it seems like a waste not to share the wealth. If you've already combed our new and improved events listings and still can't find anything that strikes your fancy, check here every afternoon for a few bonus things going on that night. Want to invite Emily to your event? Cool! She's at facebook.com/emilygee. You'll probably be better served by entering your thing into our events system, though.

Snow day! Today, we even called everybody up to make sure stuff was still happening.

R. Stevie Moore at Johnny Brenda's, 8 p.m.: Still on, as far as they know!

Free screening of Belle De Jour at L'Etage, 7:30 p.m.: still on!

Have you ever fantasized about becoming a high-class call girl? Well now you vicariously can, because when you watch a movie its all actually happening in your mind.

France's living porcelain doll, Catherine Deneuve stars as bourgeois housewife Severine, who indulges her fetishistic fantasies by becoming a daytime, high-class prostitute in this erotic satire from provocateur Luis Buñuel. Belle de Jour plays out like a late-sixties daydream, as it explores desire and discovers where the true site of sexual pleasure lies- in the mind.

Unsure how I feel about the terminology "living porcelain doll," but this movie is excellent.
