Whiskey Watch: Pappy Van Winkle this Thursday at Percy Street

If bourbon is your thing, we've got some good news for you. This Thursday, beginning at 5 p.m., the good folks at Percy Street Barbecue (900 South St.) are going to be pouring six vintages of cult favorite Pappy Van Winkle for a very special evening of tasting. Distilled in Kentucky by Old Rip Van Winkle, Pappy won taste and style points as the go-to bourbon of David Chang, Anthony Bourdain plus about a billion other chefs and has been known to fall into short supply more often then not.

Drink Philly is saying that while Percy Street hasn't released a price list, the one and two ounce pours and flights are going to be affordable enough for "regular persons."  We suggest you get there on the early side because the Pappy is limited and the brisket fries and chicken biscuits on the happy hour menu are awesome.
