Wine Watch: Savoie Dinner at Fitler Dining Room
An Alpine wine dinner is entirely weather appropriate.

Tomorrow night Rob Marzinsky and the Fitler Dining Room (2201 Spruce St.) crew are welcoming David McDuff of David Bowler Wine for a dinner featuring a menu and wine pairings from the Savoie region of France. Nestled in the snow-covered Alps, bordering both Italy and Switzerland, the Savoie dinner couldn't be more appropriate weather-wise and is full of warming fare like a spiced moulard duck breast and billi-bi, a creamy mussel soup with saffron, fennel and citrus. And of course being a serious cheesemaking hub, the cheeses of Savoie are well represented with a gruyere souffle and a camembert ice cream in the dessert course. Beginning with a glass of sparking Montagnieu Brut the menu is paired with a selection of lovely glasses of Savoie whites.
There are still a few seats left for the 6 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. seatings, reserve your spot at the table ($85 per person) by calling Fitler at 215-732-3331.
