A pop-up garden with seriously tropical vibes, a year-round beer garden and more.

3 new outdoor food/drinking places to try

Spruce Street Harbor Park | Scenic views of the Delaware are one thing, but with a hanging hammock garden, beach chairs in the sand and a floating lily-pad garden, you’re probably not going to be gazing off into the Camden distance when visiting  Spruce Street Harbor Park. On the eats and drinks end, SSHP has a shipping container bar and pop-up restaurant situation with craft drafts from the likes of Yards and Neshaminy Creek, cocktails featuring Art in the Age spirits and Garces burgers on the griddle. Mon.-Thu., 4-10 p.m.; Fri., 4-11 p.m.; Sat., 11 a.m.-11 p.m.; Sun., 11 a.m.-10 p.m. 401 S. Columbus Blvd., 215-629-3200, delawareriverwaterfront.com

PHS Pop-Up Garden | Taking advantage of the disused lot adjacent to the Jamaican Jerk Hut on South Street, the Philadelphia Horticultural Society set up this year’s pop-up garden with some seriously tropical vibes. The bar is pouring tumblers of rummy Planter’s Punch and Dark ’n’ Stormy cocktails along with a summery beer lineup. And food is being provided by the Jerk Hut along with a summer-long rotation of visiting food trucks. Mon.-Thu., 5-10 p.m.; Fri., 5 p.m.-midnight; Sat., 2 p.m.-midnight; Sun., noon-10 p.m. 1438 South St., phsonline.org

Independence Beer Garden | The corner of Sixth and Market just got way friendlier, especially if you’d prefer a frosty pint over a long wait to gawk at the Liberty Bell. Independence Beer Garden, a year-round outdoor drinking and dining destination, is open for business and serving an all-American menu that’s friendly to tourists and locals, courtesy of chefs Michael Schulson and Travis Masar. Think mac and cheese with pretzel crumbs, avocado-topped shrimp rolls and D.I.Y. s’mores. Sun., 11 a.m.-9 p.m.;  Mon.-Tue., 11 a.m.-10 p.m.; Wed.-Thu., 11 a.m.-11 p.m.; Fri.-Sat., 11 a.m.-midnight. 100 Independence Mall W., 215-922-7100, phlbeergarden.com.
