Angel Haze | C
Dirty Gold (Island/Republic) is Angel Haze’s first studio LP after five unremarkable years in the mixtape game. Corny self-help quotes are scattered across these unfocused, Billboard-aspiring struggle raps and spurious I’m-the-boss ones. “You only get one moment in this life to be great,” she tritely spits on “Battle Cry,” a Macklemore-y, cliché-weaponized fight song with a stock Sia chorus. Dirty Gold is not Haze’s moment.
